Commercial Refrigerator defrost drain clogged
Refrigerator defrost drain may be clogged or frozen. If defrost drain is frozen, water will overpass the drain canal and spill to the end of the compartment. If the drain is frozen, unfreeze it and make sure its clean of residues.
Some defrost drains are equipped with a drain strap. The drain strap is a small piece of copper or aluminum connected to the defrost heater and extending till half of the drain. When the defrost heater is turned on, heat is transmitted by the drain strap to melt any ice accumulating inside the defrost drain. If the drain strap is not in place, it is possible for the defrost drain to freeze.
Some refrigerators are equipped with a drain heater. Drain heaters keep water on the drain tray to freeze again and obstruct the defrost drain. If your drain heater is faulty or not properly positioned, defrost drain may freeze.
